~  Early Intervention is the Key ~
Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) is a public school program offering early intervention services to young children.  This program is run by the Southern Plains Education Cooperative, which serves the following districts:  Fairmont Area, Blue Earth Area, Martin County West, Truman and Granada-Huntley East Chain.
Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) services are for infants and young children birth through 6 years 11 months of age, who have been tested to identify their special needs.  These needs may include speech and language, motor, behavior, personal-social or school readiness skills.

ECSE services to children under 3 years of age are usually provided in a child's home or daycare setting.  Children 3-5 years of age may receive their services in center-based classrooms or in community based programming.
