Hello My Name Is...
Early Intervention ~ provided within an Inclusive Preschool Classroom
Welcome to Early Intervention and the many learning opportunities provided within Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE). My name is Barb Sandersfeld.
Imagine, Learn, Play
*My Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) teaching philosophy incorporates a strong language and play-based developmental curriculum. Children are provided with plenty of time to play, learn to ask questions and figure out their own answers. Learning is not just repeating what someone else says; it requires active thinking and experimenting to find out how things work and to learn first hand about the world in which we live.
*Play provides the foundation for academic or "school" learning. It is the preparation children need before they learn highly abstract symbols such as letters and numbers. Play enables us to achieve the key goals of our early childhood curriculum. Play Is the work of young children!
Family Involvement Makes a Difference
*I feel that parents and family members are the most valuable members of our team!
*Early years are critical learning years. I believe collaboration must exist between families, educators, and communities if we are to appropriately meet the diverse needs of our young children.
**Our Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program provides services based on the individual needs of each child.**
